Mooresville Insurance Agency was originally established in 1933. The ownership of the agency has changed several times over the years. The present owners, George W. Brawley, Jr. and Martha B. (Suzie) Brawley acquired the agency on January 1, 1973. They later incorporated on April 1, 1974.

From the beginning the agency wrote primarily Property insurance. In 1985 the agency began selling automobile and other casualty lines of insurance. In June 1987 Peggy Whitonis was hired as agent and office manager. The agency general manager, Martha B. Brawley and Peggy Whitonis worked together to establish a full service agency. Anita Reddish joined the agency in 1995 as a licensed agent and customer service representative.
